Torup Castle has a history since the 1300s. The original castle was on a hill called Askebacken. The present castle was built in 1537, but was restored from 1602 to 1630 and was then mainly the appearance it has today. The castle is a three story high brick building. It forms a square with an octagonal tower in the northwest.
