The castle contains many defense works of that time, such as parapets, false doors and dead-end corridors, Murder-holes for pouring boiling pitch over the attackers, moats, drawbridges. The outer walls, which are 2.4 meters thick at the bottom and 1.8 meters at the top, pass 2.5 meters below the ground.
