The museum depicts the city's origin and medieval development and is built around some permanent ancient monuments. The exhibition space is 1,750 m² and the number of exhibits is approximately 850. One of the museum's most famous exhibits is the 20-meter-long warship. The warship had been equipped for the defense of Stockholm in the latter part of the 14th century.
