Construction work of the cathedral, began around 1250 and a was opened 1291. New the parts to the cathedral, came in the 1300s and 1400s, but the characteristic tower was built in the 1740s. The Library of cathedral is one of Sweden's oldest preserved and functional libraries and it leads its origins from the year 1316.
