Construction was interrupted of the Scanian War. The work resumed after the war and the cathedral was completely finished in 1703. The cathedral building is constructed in an elongated cross shape with absides in the east and west. The facade is richly designed with pilasters. In the cathedral is not less than eighty tombstones from the 1600s and 1700s. The cathedral's hall is decorated with a large amount of epitaphs and funeral weapons from the 1600s and 1700s.
